What Are Investors Looking For?

Many startups believe in these few things to convince investors are "Good presentation", "Good business idea" or even "Idea that solves a big problem"

However, we fail to realize that investors are only concerned with whatever ideas you have - are you able to "Make It" ?They want to verify your capability and capacity instead of presentation or leadership style during the pitch.

Now that you know this, what exactly are the points investors consider before investing in your business?

How close are you to the problem you are solving ?

The closer you are to that problem, the more likely you have seen and felt the real pain. It means you have good reason to try and solve this problem. It also means that you would have explored and exhausted the current options in the market, and tried to come up with something better than this.

2. Do you have the required network to see your idea through?

For instance, if you are trying to solve a problem for car workshops, are you currently in the network of these business? How many workshops owners do you know, that are willing to use your solutions? Do you speak their language?

3. Is your solution yet another option or a game changer?

If you want them to invest in you, make sure your idea is really revolutionary, i.e. with it's own uniqueness rather than just a copy cat. If there are existing solutions, best if you can list down what are the shortages or unserved market.

4. Invest Your Own Money

Invest your own money before asking others. If you are so confident with your idea, why are you not investing your own money? No investor will consider investing in an "idea" without you showing your own commitment.

5. Get Your Minimum Viable Product (MVP)

Do not expect investors to give you money just because you have an impressive Pitch Deck. Build a MVP to shows that your idea is acceptable or needed and your target customers are willing to pay.

And that's the bare minimum that will allow investors to take you seriously. Hope that this article was helpful!
